On Friday, Bottega Veneta showed its fall 2018 men’s and women’s collections in an extremely stunning show at the new York stock exchange Building. This show coincided with the opening of Bottega Veneta’s 15,000 square foot Maison store in new York at 740 Madison Avenue (we have yet to check out the store, but it’s on our list!) and the introduction of the “Icons of new York” capsule Collection for the opening.
The limited edition collection celebrates new York City with a 33-piece range of men’s and women’s leather goods from bags to phone cases, all paying homage to the city. Atop quintessential classic Bottega Veneta styles are motifs of new York, like the skyline, which was created with tiny block letters of NYC’s subway lines atop a classic Olimpia bag.
The brand, which is known for its classic, well-crafted bags, chose to choose a quirkier and much more in-your-face homage to NYC, and it paid off. I love the black Olimpia with the colorful subway lines and would carry that bag myself, whether in nyc or South Florida. The Manhattan vista atop the other bags is implemented really beautifully, as only Bottega Veneta can do, which makes the bags fun and different.
