The Jacquemus Le Bambino(u) Bag just got bigger and I’m obsessed

three and a half years ago the tiniest bag the handbag world ever did see hit the scene, and it made quite a fuss. The bag now known around the handbag world was introduced by the then-experimental French label Jacquemus. And, despite its agita-inducing size, the Le Chiquito ended up in the hands of some of the most famous handbag lovers of our time (think Selena Gomez, Emily Ratajkowski, Dua Lipa, Kendall Jenner, and more).

These days, the label made famous for its tiny bag is anything but indie anymore, and both its RTW and accessories are most-wanted, hot items season after season. known for its experimental ideology and knack for playing with outlandish proportions, Simon Porte Jacquemus, the brand designer, also makes sleek and functional carryalls—you know, those that will work for the more practical fashionistas among us.

I’ve had my eyes on some of Jacquemus’ more usable bags for a few seasons now, thanks to their undeniable it factor and unique shapes. Mainly, I was eyeing the Le Grand Chiquito, though admittedly, each time I revisit the bag, I have difficulty pulling the trigger. I love Jacquemus’ bags because of the “if you know, you know” factor, and I like that the bags lean more towards a streetwear aesthetic, which fits well with my wardrobe. I keep returning to Jacquemus bags and adding one to my rotation this year is on my list.

Introducing the Jacquemus Le Bambinou

Earlier this month, Jacquemus introduced a new size of its cute and highly-coveted Le Bambino bag, and the rainbow of colors caught my eye as I scrolled through Instagram one rainy afternoon. An instant mood boost, I was hooked almost right away and thought to myself, ‘is this the one?’ I was also a bit surprised by the functionality of this new bag, dubbed the Le Bambinou, as it’s quite large in size.

The Le Bambinou is described as an envelope bag and features a thick shoulder strap as well as a top handle for multiple ways of carrying. Inside, there is one pocket, and there is also a slit pocket on the back exterior of the bag. Crafted from leather that holds color beautifully, the brand boasts that each leather is unique, carefully selected by the design team. since it first hit the scene, I keep coming back to the Le Bambinou.
