I am back with a couple of updates and things I missed getting into posts during the excursion last week. We begin with a photo released over the weekend of the Duchess receiving her first vaccination. Below, the social media post by Kensington Palace on Twitter.
In the photo, the Duchess wears an H&M top dating back to September 2016, when Kate and William visited Cornwall.
The ‘Off The carry Rib Knit Top’ is a rayon/nylon/spandex blend. We saw the piece again during the October 2016 Canada tour.
The Duchess appeared to be wearing a new pair of ‘Favorite Cut’ jeans ($89, sold out in most sizes) from the H&M-owned & other Stories brand.
Made of organic cotton, the style features a high waist, a slim leg silhouette, and a front zipper. thank you to Christine for the idea on the jeans. UPDATE JUN 22: After seeing the Duchess in the jeans again for a June 22 engagement, it looks like she is wearing the Cropped favorite cut Jeans ($89), not the conventional length. The length on the cropped style shown below left is 27.6″ and on the regular length (below right) it is 30″. It looks a lot more like the cropped style to me than the regular length.
In the photo, you can just make out a pair of earrings we’d not seen before, shown in the inset below right.
They look like the Booble Hoop Earrings (£125, about $175 at today’s exchange rates) by Liv Thurlwell Jewelry, a British-based firm offering designs created at a “cozy studio in the English countryside.” They are made of sterling silver and 9ct. gold.

Now, for a few things we missed, beginning with this video of Mila Sneddon as her mother tells her she is going to meet the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
Also not making last week’s Thursday post, this picture of Mila waving at the Duchess before the Beating Retreat ceremony begins.
Another item not making the final excursion post, this ‘thank you’ posted on social media by Kensington Palace.
The sketch of St. Andrews you see in the Tweet was done by the Duchess in 2002.
An update on the casual ensemble worn when visiting the European Marine energy Centre last Tuesday.
Middleton Maven suggests the sweater was another piece by Holland Cooper, the Country crew Neck Knit (£125). Made of 100% merino wool and featuring a slim fit with faux-suede details, buttons at the shoulder, and a ribbed knit, this very much looks like what Kate wore underneath her Seeland jacket on the 25th.
A pal suggests the UFO black trousers worn at St. Andrews last week are the same pair worn in October 202o for world mental health Day. I think she could be right.

Also today, another Hold Still conversation has been released by Kensington Palace. In this episode, the Duchess speaks with Jason Baird, one of two men who dressed up as Spiderman and delighted children with their antics during lockdown.

The Duchess of Cambridge has praised an “amazingly captured” image of a martial arts teacher dressed as Spider-Man during lockdown and joked about buying a costume for her husband.
Jason Baird, who runs Jason Baird’s Black Belt Academy in Stockport, and his pal Andrew Baldock, became known as the “Stockport Spider Men” as they entertained children and family alike by dressing up as the character on their walks.

The Telegraph story notes that “Kate joked that she might have to get the Duke of Cambridge the Spider-Man costume. ‘I’ll see if it takes on the trend here at Kensington Palace,’ she said. ‘Unfortunately I’m not so sure if he’s going to get the air clearance that you’ve got.’”

Finally today, an update unrelated to the tour, but one I think you will appreciate, news about the new exhibition at Kensington Palace titled Royal style in the Making. The iconic wedding dress worn by Diana, Princess of Wales, is on display as part of that exhibition.

On display will be the wedding dress of Diana, Princess of Wales,on show for the first time at Kensington Palace in 25 years, in addition to a rare, surviving toile for the 1937 coronation gown of Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother; consort of King George VI.

Princess Diana’s wedding gown, in all its sparkly, fairy-tale splendor, is the centerpiece of a new show at Kensington Palace and a sign of just how much brides in the public eye have changed considering that Prince Charles and lady Diana Spencer wed in July 1981.
The ivory dress with its thousands of pearls and sequins, its puffed sleeves and 25-foot train has been loaned by Princes William and Harry, who have set aside their well-publicized differences to pay tribute to their mother and to enrich the new show, “Royal style in the Making,” which opens Thursday at the Orangery, part of Kensington Palace.

Diana’s dress, which was loaned to the exhibition by Princes William and Harry, is first approached from the back, with the train laid out in full. It is set against an image of the nave of St Paul’s Cathedral, and Kensington Palace curator Claudia Acott Williams notes that designers Elizabeth and David Emanuel measured the nave “so the width of the train is dictated by the width of the nave.” Acott Williams also shared how the hand-embroidered silk taffeta of the train was taking so long to create that Elizabeth Emanual brought her mother in to help with the embroidery.
